George Shahin M.D.

George Shahin is a specialist in neurology with more than 14 years of clinical experience; six of those years in a leading role at the Stroke Unit of Gießen University Hospital (Friedberg site). At Praxisgemeinschaft Sanexio in Frankfurt-Westend he covers the full spectrum of outpatient neurological and psychiatric conditions.

His treatment portfolio includes headache and migraine, vertigo, back pain, polyneuropathies, dementia, Parkinson's disease and other movement disorders, multiple sclerosis, epilepsy, stroke prevention and aftercare, as well as peripheral nerve lesions such as carpal tunnel syndrome. In the psychiatric consultation he treats depression, anxiety, obsessive-compulsive and sleep disorders.

For diagnostics the practice offers Doppler and duplex ultrasound of the brain-supplying vessels, nerve ultrasound, electroneurography (nerve conduction velocity), evoked potentials, sleep screening and standardised cognition and dementia tests.

As a certified botulinum-toxin practitioner and member of the German Botulinum Toxin Working Group, Mr Shahin runs a BOTOX clinic for medical indications: chronic migraine and tension-type headache, hyperhidrosis (excessive sweating), supportive therapy in depression (glabellar and forehead lines), cervical dystonia (torticollis), blepharospasm (eyelid spasm), spasticity following stroke or in multiple sclerosis, hemifacial spasm (uncontrolled facial twitches, e.g. after peripheral facial palsy) and sialorrhoea (excessive salivation) in Parkinson's syndrome or ALS.
