Acute jaundice. 5–10 % of adults, up to 90 % of infants develop chronic infection with risk of cirrhosis and liver cancer.
Recombinant inactivated vaccine. Very safe and effective.
All infants (since 1995). Adults at risk: healthcare workers, dialysis, sexual contact with carriers, travel to endemic regions.
Booster: Erwachsene: Auffrischung nur bei Risikopersonen nach Anti-HBs-Titer-Bestimmung. Bei beruflich Exponierten alle 10 Jahre erwägen.
