Faecal-oral, smear infection.
Clinical picture
Severe watery diarrhoea, vomiting, fever. Most common cause of hospitalisation due to dehydration in infants.
Vaccine protection
Oral live vaccine (drops).
Who should be vaccinated?
All infants — start from week 6, completion strictly by week 24 or 32.
Vaccination schedule (STIKO)
- 1. Dosis (ab 6 Wochen) — Sehr früh beginnen, da Altersgrenze bei Abschluss strikt.
- 2. Dosis
- 3. Dosis (nur RotaTeq) — Nur bei 3-Dosen-Schema (RotaTeq). Letzte Dosis spätestens bis 32 Wochen.
Booster: Keine Auffrischung — Säuglingsschutz endet mit Vollständigkeit der Grundimmunisierung.
