Tick bite (in risk areas of southern Germany and Central Europe).
After 1–2 weeks flu-like symptoms; in about 30 % of cases a second phase with meningitis and paralysis. Sequelae possible.
Inactivated vaccine (Encepur, FSME-Immun).
Stay in risk areas (Bavaria, Baden-Württemberg, Hesse, Thuringia, Saxony, Rhineland-Palatinate, Saarland). Forestry workers, outdoor active.
Booster: Alle 3 J. (Erstauffrischung) bzw. 5 J. (Folgen). Ab 60 J.: alle 3 J. Indikation: Aufenthalt in Risikogebiet (Bayern, BaWü, Sachsen, Thüringen, Hessen, RLP, Saarland).
