Pathogen

Rubella virus.

Transmission

Droplets.

Clinical picture

In children, mild spotted rash, fever, swollen lymph nodes. Dangerous in pregnancy: severe foetal malformations (rubella embryopathy: deafness, heart defects, blindness).

Vaccine protection

MMR live vaccine.

Who should be vaccinated?

All children. Women of childbearing age: serology check, vaccinate before pregnancy if protection is insufficient.

Vaccination schedule (STIKO)

1. Dosis (11 Monate)
2. Dosis (15 Monate)

Booster: Frauen mit Kinderwunsch: Titer-Kontrolle. Bei unzureichendem Schutz: 1–2 Dosen MMR vor Schwangerschaft.
