Chronic pneumonia with bloody cough, weight loss, night sweats. Multidrug-resistant strains rising globally.
Vaccine protection
BCG live vaccine — no longer recommended in Germany since 1998 due to unfavourable benefit-risk ratio.
Who should be vaccinated?
No STIKO recommendation in Germany. Individually for travel to high-risk areas with close population contact.

- Keine STIKO-Empfehlung — BCG ist in Deutschland seit 1998 nicht mehr empfohlen. Anwendung nur in Ausnahmefällen (Reise in Hochrisiko-Endemiegebiete mit engem Bevölkerungskontakt, individuelle Indikation).
Booster: Keine routinemäßige Auffrischung.
