Varicella-zoster virus (VZV).
Droplets, highly contagious.
Itchy, spotted and vesicular rash, fever. Complications: bacterial superinfection, pneumonia. Pregnant women: embryopathy. The virus remains in the body and can cause shingles (zoster) later.
Live vaccine.
All children. Seronegative adults at risk (planning pregnancy, immune deficiency, healthcare workers).
Booster: Keine Auffrischung nach 2 dokumentierten Dosen.
